AC => mot55/pin41 => mcp3208/... analog input => fw configured to raise idle
This setup can increase the idle speed once AC clutch kicks in
- good, only a protected mcp3208 analog input is needed for that
- it is considered that after 2017-05-23, by default: mot55/pin41 is connected via 75k/(75k+100k) divider to mcp3208/ch3 (only when 1 or 0 EGT is requested: 2 EGT is very rare anyway for this inline-5 engine)
- 14.7*75/175 = 6.30V a bit too high, maybe series 68 k resistor with the onboard 100k: 75k/(75k+168k) would be more appropriate against potential voltage spikes
So that my idle doesn't drop or stall.
Believe me i have messed around with idle IAC settings probably more than anyone else, and there are occasions where the idle still drops and stalls. So for that reason alone, i would like to make use of this feature which i believe to be very important for my car.
Yes, understood. Makes sense !
2) I would like to have the option for the AC feature from firmware 1.2.38
Protected analog input needed to connect the 12v signal from the air con compressor to be incorporated to the ecu in order to use the settings to control the idle.
Please write everything you can about YOUR (actual) EC10 pinout in the EC10 section on MembersPage/VasilisP/EvapOutput
Analog input verification
With 1kOhm resistor, see the bottom of [VT help]
- mcp3208/ch6 might be without protection (=not suitable for 12V)
- but other mcp3208/ch (0,1 normally without pullup or 2,5 normally with pullup to +5V) might be suitable for easy connection to AC activation
View gauges: analog inputs raw group.
- Perhaps one of the analog inputs already show when AC clutch is activated ? (unlikely)
- if not, measure voltage on mot55/pin41
- => if mot55/pin41 indicates AC (verified 0/12V or 0/5V signal), connect to a protected mcp3208 analog input (and configure and document accordingly).
- if not, measure voltage on mot55/pin41
ECU serial number is : v3/10581
According to our records aan/10581 does NOT have
'''AC => mot55/pin41 => mcp3208/... analog input connected
You can connect the AC signal (mot55/pin41) to a protected mcp3208 input
after Analog input verification (see above)
Recommended simple $0.02 parts:
- 4k7 or 10kOhm resistor for input that has no internal protection
- 5V1 zener for protection (if the free mcp3208 input has no protection)
- simple wire (0 Ohm) or 270 Ohm suffices if the mcp3208 is known to have protection internally (than 0/12V does not cause damage)
- 1kOhm for verification of analog inputs (270 .. 4k7 .. 10k also suitable, just measured values differ from usual examples so taking notes and some simple calculation needed)
We can give more tailored advice if (as instructed) you write everything you can about YOUR (actual) EC10 pinout in the EC10 section on MembersPage/VasilisP/EvapOutput
- preferrably find the EC10 paper (or a scan/copy) (and any log of changes or install notes during the years)
- also get a 1kOhm and do the Analog input verification to see that you have (still working and verified) analog inputs on known inputs
- list the mcp3208 inputs in use, or just connected
