Analog Input Calibration

To the calibrated values select View/Groups/Analog inputs calibrated group.
To use external EGT amplifier correctily in V3 board the input pullup resistor (on the given ADC channel) must be removed.

Scale calculation example with external EGT amplifier:
EGT amplifier output: 239C/V
5V means 1195C
Calibration gauge default range is 0(0V) ... 1 (5V)
we need 0 .. 1195(5V)
So the calculated multiplier will be 1195

Resulting config settings for EGT amplifier example:
Use scale: 119
Scale multiplier: 10
Offset: 0

Very easy to verify mcp3208 and other inputs by measurement. Connect to the device,

  • watch MAP, CLT, MAT, VBATT on main gauges.
  • open view gauges/analog inputs raw (for mcp3208 inputs)

Connect the pin in question through a 2k4 or 1kOhm resistor to GND, than release or connect (through the resistor) to +5V (eg. EC36/29 suitable for this) and you will see the relevant mcp3208 channel change accordingly.
"Trial and error" is usually not the recommended method (recommended: following the actual pinout, any customizations marked on paper), but in this case it is OK. The resistor is important (especially when checking arbitrary EC18 pins), because if you connect to an output, the resistor limits current to smaller than 5mA (eg. the +5V regulator or a digital output, especially stepper outputs could be damaged if connected directly without the resistor).
