Secondary trigger settings
Mode
- Use as Primary: Secondary trigger input is used as primary trigger input.
- Disabled: Secondary trigger is disabled.
- Cam-sync: Allows syncing of engine phase to cam phase, so the ECU knows if it's exhaust or power stroke. Required for full sequential ignition and timed end-angle fuel injection.
Edge
Select either Falling or Rising, for VR sensor, always use Rising.
Changes to Trigger Edge, when burned to ecu, are applied on next ecu powerup; make sure to power cycle the ecu for changes to take effect.
Advanced settings
Edge while cranking
Typically use 'Single' edge. Setting 'Both' is experimental.
Raw value
For reference only.
Special trigger options
These settings are for advanced users and normally not changed unless from primary trigger dialog with configlets.
Audi hall scope
When auditigger is enabled, activates (onboard) p259/ch2 to allow scoping of hall signal.
Subaru special
To use special Subaru or Suzuki trigger enable this.
Suzuki VVT special trigger
To use special Suzuki VVT trigger enable this together with Subaru special.
Subaru or Suzuki VVTI measure pulse
The trigger pulse from which to measure cam angle for cam angle control.
Nissan special trigger
To use special Nissan trigger enable this.
Nissan hardware divider
Enable only when Nissan hardware divider is applied.
Nissan sec. trigger ignore above
Ignore secondary trigger above this RPM.
Nissan widest window measurement in cam degrees (sectrigpulses) setup procedure:
- Setup safe mode Base setup/ECU calibrations. Set prohibit_h=0 (remember old value).
- Start cranking (min 3 crank revolution).
- Check Nissan count (right click, change gauge data->Basic->Nissan count). Previously: "Air correction gauge". Window length = (value_on_thegauge-100)*4.
- Set Base Setup/Secondary trigger settings/Ignore sectrig pulses above (secignore) Window length - 3 is a good starting value.
Ignore sectrig pulses above (secignore), for Nissantrigger has the special meaning "synchronize to primary trigger HIGH-window longer than X sectrig pulses". - For example: 104 means 4*4=16 camdegrees (secignore=13 seems a good starting value).
102 means 2*4=8 camdegrees (secignore=5 seems a good starting value).
103 means 3*4=12 camdegrees (secignore=9 seems a good starting value). - Set back prohibit flag (Disable safe mode)
EVO, Minimum valid sectrig->primtrig angle
EVO minimum angle at which sectrig is accepted.
EVO, Maximum valid sectrig->primtrig angle
EVO maximum angle at which sectrig is accepted.
LS-1 forgiving
- With "LS1 forgiving" disabled, sectrig pulse must always come in window B or C ("A" would cause resync and advance ignition 1 crankpulse)
- With HALL type primary trigger (secondary trigger can be either HALL or VR) and "LS1 forgiving" enabled (only recommended for 48+1 type LS1 trigger), during syncronisation, sectrig pulse must come in window A or B. After syncronisation, C is also allowed (without resync).
Missing tooth primary allow sync without camsync receive
Allows engine to enter sync without receival of valid cam-sync. Generally not recommended.
Filtering options
Delayed reenable filtering
The simple filter is mostly used for single pulse-type trigger, do not use with missing-tooth or multi-pulse triggers. It disables triggering for the first half of the
trigger period to avoid noise problems.
Hall dirac filtering
Some installation of Hall sensors there are very small noise pulses (like dirac pulses) without information. This feature filters it.
Ignore sectrig pulses above
Ignore sectrig pulses above this primary tooth count. 255 to disable.
Example:
A setting of 20 means that the secondary trigger is only considered from primary trigger tooth 0-20 (not the full window, which is 0-57 for a 60-2 wheel).
Only the secondary pulse which occur in the green windows highlighted on the triggerlog below are considered/accepted, all others are ignored/dropped.
Maximum primary edge between secondary edges
Ignore sectrig pulse if primary tooth count between sectrig pulses is greater than this value (neglect sectrig gap larger than this).
255 to disable.
128+N: special value (where N practically: 10..40) means:
Ignore sectrig pulse if primary tooth count between sectrig pulses is lower than N (neglect sectrig gap smaller than N).
Examples:
- a setting of 20 means that the secondary trigger is only considered when the amount of primary triggers between two consecutive secondary pulses is smaller than 20, highlighted in green window on the triggerlog below. Only the secondary pulse at the end of the green window is accepted, all others are ignored.
- a setting of 128+40 means that the secondary trigger is only considered when the amount of primary triggers between two consecutive secondary pulses is greater than 40, highlighted in red window on the triggerlog below. Only the secondary pulse after the end of the red window is accepted, all others are ignored.
