Idle Stepper Hardware Settings

IAC Float

  • Normal: Stepper is moved to reference position when leaving idle mode.
  • Float: Stepper is left at the current position when leaving idle mode.

IAC Stepper Speed (steps / second)
Stepper move speed in steps / second. As speed goes up, stepper torque goes down which (above a certain threshold) might lead to skipped steps and bad position control. Test on bench to see what works best for accurate control.

Max Steps Allowed
Maximum allowed Stepper position, any command above this will be railed at Max allowed.

Min Steps Allowed
Mimimum allowed Stepper position, any command below this will be railed at Min allowed.

Power Off Stepper After Steps
When Enabled, this powers off the stepper driver after steps; Will reduce the stepper IAC temperature on long drives, but might cause a slight skew in position (without power the position is mechanicly limited only). When in doubt use Disabled.

IAC Stepper Polarity
To select the polarity when using a unipolar stepper (5 wires or more). Normally Positive.

IAC Stepper Facility

  • Normal: the output is the stepper
    • A (EC18/4),
    • B (EC18/10),
    • C (EC18/5),
    • D (EC18/11) outputs.
  • Special(P259): the output is the P259 channel
    • A = EC36/3 (p259/4),
    • B = EC36/15 (p259/5),
    • C = EC36/31 (p259/6),
    • D = EC36/30 (p259/7).
