Idle Cranking / Reference Curve
To get any control over the IAC you will need to define both the Cranking Positions and the Reference Curve first!
Position at -40 deg C
IAC postion during cranking at -40 deg C
Position at 77 deg C
IAC postion during cranking at 77 deg C
Recommended calibration procedure:
The direct control method (open loop) is preferrable when setting the baseline reference values.
We therefore allow the engine to run stable (without rpm fluctuation) without Idle PID enabled first (P = I = D = 0) when setting up the reference table.
That way the ECU directly uses the values in these tables to set the IAC valve duty cycle (open loop).
After the open loop tuning has been completed over several cold to warm cycles (adjusting the reference values in each cell as the engine warms up), PID controller can be enabled if desired.
