Hello Mattias,

Thanks for the follow up, great to hear everything is in working order again.
Happy Tuning! :)

Best regards, Dave

Dave,
the engine is running again, the ignition output table needed to be shifted two times and just a hair fine-tuning TDC after the trigger to get the timing just right.

Funny you should say it, before all this the customer actually said the cam sprocket for the exhaust cam (belt driven from crank) was 180 cam degrees out of phase (markings were off).

Thanks,
Mattias

Hello Mattias,

I have reviewed the triggerlog, trigger settings are now good, no errors.

However engine is syncing tyo the wrong phase now (consistently in exhaust phase, not compression), they need to rotate the cam wheel 180 degree or easier if the cam has a half moon type camwheel, use secondary trigger alternate trigger edge (so change from falling to rising).

After that they need to check timing again (with timing light) on cranking, with 0deg cranking advance, triggerlog suggests it is about 1-2 teeth off, so 6-12deg offsetted.

Hope this helps, if you/they run into any trouble, please update your report.

Best regards,

Dave

Checking for even/odd fire was not the first thing on my mind. With even fire the trigger errors are gone, I attached the triggerlog.
Now it doesn't start, perhaps due to a change of ignition order, but they'll get it running again (250 km away from me). I have no clue how the ECU calculated ignition firing properly before but the engine ran good once started. :)

Thanks Dave!

Hello Mattias,

From triggerlog review it seems as if the secondary trigger is not registered by the v3 (although clearly present in the triggerlog), secondary filtering setting can cause this.

Secondary trigger settings review shows sectrig ignore = 255 and maxsecper primtrig = 255, this is good, however primary trigger shows RPM filter enabled, please disable this.

In base settings, engine setup: Odd fire is enabled, this needs disabling also.

Could you take another triggerlog, in format: engine cranking 8-10 seconds no inj or ign fuse? and also store a vemslog (or vemscfg) after correcting the offending settings mentioned above and power cycling the ecu (after burn) and attach to this report? Thanks! I will review.

Best regards,

Dave
