Potting compond
The Wacker ELASTOSIL® RT 675 A/B potting compound has amazing heat transfer properties:
Thermal conductivity: 1,2 W/m×K.
Some comparisons:
Copper: 401W/m*K.
Pure aluminium: 237W/m*K.
Normal aluminium: 100W/m*K.
Air: 0,0025W/m*K
This silicone compound is in other words 480 times better
than air or 100 times worse than solid aluminium.
We may want to use this as a partial fill for the new products with lots of SMD switches, it will make heat transfer much simpler.
