Introduction
I'm rebuilding a 1987 SAAB 900, hoping to achieve good fuel economy, performance and reliability with a lightly modified 2.0l 16v turbo engine.
Status
It lives! GenBoard uttered its first Hello today (actually probably its second).
Stock wiring harness has been rid of old CIS junk, going to use sensors and relays from LH2.2
Engine parts at the machine shop.
Questions
I'm planning to use a crank-mounted Bosch EZK trigger (Hall Sensor) with a two-hole shutter wheel [as seen here].
- Will a 36-1 or 60-2 trigger wheel provice a noticable improvement in timing accuracy?
- not, with current firmware. The 60-2 is no noticable improvement over 36-1 anyway (timing from 10 degrees worstcase is just perfect, the error because of this is well under 0.1 degree even with fast revving engines - except in neutral which doesn't matter that much )
- Does sequential injection require a certain number of trigger events?
- one (primary-trigger) pulse per engine event is the minimum
