Audi A4 1.8TQ
My plan is to uppgrade with bigger turbo, new engine management system a bigger IC.
MembersPage/SteinOvePrestmo has intentions to install Genboard on the same engine, an Audi AEB (1.8T 20V). How to contact him?
Great overview of available information here: GenBoard/Manual
What sensors to use
- CLT - Coolant Temperature
- Stock is usually of compatible type (Bosch NTC profile), about 2.5KOhm at 20C.
- MAT/IAT - GenBoard/Manual/IntakeAirTemperature
- Same NTC profile as coolant temperature sensor. You could build your own with the NTC resistor found in the webshop (really cheap, but works great) or use one from another vehicle (verify the resistance curve).
- MAP - Manifold Air pressure (onboard the Genboard)
- Just a pressure line from the intake past the throttle butterfly, that connects to the MAP sensor on the Genboard.
- TPS - Throttle Position Sensor
- Find out the type of TPS that you have currently, is it a potentiometer (varies with position) or an on/off (digital) type? You want the potentiometer type.
Then there is the ignition and InputTrigger for this engine. I'll leave that to AEB experts to answer as I don't know anything about the stock system on these engines.
Q: Do I have to make changes to my engine internally?
A: No.
