Is it possible that the second wideband Can be made for a fueltrim adjustment
So the first lambdasonde is used to adjust fuel like normal and then the second is used as a longterm trim lambdasonde like OE ecu does it ?
This Way fuel trim could be made perfect ,
Also is OBD2 a possibility on a later model , is comming sooner then later also for the aftermarked ecu marked , so we are able to use the ecu on roadcars
Thanks

Question subaru
I plan to install Vems on a subaru Forester 2005 xt ej255 with dbw throttle same trigger setup as ej257 sti engine from 2005-
Crank sensor is VR triggerwheel is 36-2-2-2,
Secondary is hall on left rear cam 4-1 this cam and trigger moves when avcs is adjusted
Third “trigge” is Hall on the right rear also 4-1, used for cam position for avcs
It runs electronic throttle so this needs to work also
Is there a working set up for this if i order a complete assampled ecu ?
Thanks

Subaru questions -from the new proper page : SubaruEj the need for support for the 4 triggers became clear, and was implemented in firmware 1.2.4 .
__JDM 2001 avcs sti engine__
the trigger setup on the car is:
primary VR 36-2-2-2, and secondary VR is a 2pulse on the left ontake cam(this does not move),
this is the normal setup used with 36-2-2-2 from 2001-2006
I would like to run the car with avcs fuctioning,so there is a VR sensor on both the left and right intake cam.
so there the a vr feedback sensor on each inlet cam(boxer engine)so left and right
the feedback sensors are 4 evenly spaced teeth for cam control(this moves when oilpressure pwm controled solenoids are control in cam advance table)
secondary trigge
- NOT connected to the 2pulse cam trigger, but instead to the right intake cams 4pulse setup(like written on the 36-2-2-2 page),
The engine can run wastedspark.
Third trigger
and the [
http://vems.hu/vt/help/v3/v3_camshaft_angle_control.html
3rd input trigger] is on the left intake cam 4pulse trigger,
- What is totally unclear is what is in the dropdown menu in vemstune?
- What dropdown in which dialog ?
- I believe we need to change to use the setup like oe
- primary trigger=crank 36-2-2-2
- secondary 2 pulse on front "left" (intake or exhaust?) cam
- position of pulses ?
- like the setup that is already made for subaru 36-2-2-2 with sync
- does the position change when the cam is actuated ? (I guess no)
- No this does not move
- position of pulses ?
- + measure the 2 "rear" VR sensors just for AVCS feedback
- intake
- 1.9kohmsensors, 0.1mv voltage across sensor when conected
- position of pulses ?
- shown at the bottum of the 36-2-2-2 page with 3scope shots
- I guess the position changes when the cam is actuated (?)
- yes this moves
IS THIS POSSIBLE ?
- 1 primary-trigger + 2 camsensors (and controlling 2 independent camshafts) are possible, yes.
- the third trigger just measures the position of tooth for camshaft-angle-control (see "measure tooth" for third trigger)
- But the secondary-trigger not just measures the position of tooth but also distinguish between every second crank-rotation:
- this is necessary for camshaft-angle control (and even just to run the engine except for distributer or wasted-spark). Obviously 2 or 4 even pulses don't make this possible. 1 or 4+1 or 2 unevenly placed pulses would be suitable. BMW was smart and used 6+1 pulses to allow distinguish between every 2nd crankrot. We'll see when you fill in the above questions.
- if its not possible with sekventiel becourse of lack of inputs , could it be made to run wastedspark(cranktrigger alone)together with avcs control using the 4tooth evenly spaced teeth on both inletcams(left&right) ?
- this is necessary for camshaft-angle control (and even just to run the engine except for distributer or wasted-spark). - Primary-trigger + 2 camshaft-triggers are possible (both can be measured and used for controlling 2 camshafts - one each),
- but primary-trigger + 3 camshaft-triggers are currently not supported (total of 4 triggers are only supported if 1 is a long HALL-pulse suitable for "masking" like in auditrigger, but apparently not the case here).
Hint: make a project page, specifying exast pulse-positions (and wether they move with AVCS-actuation or not)
- that makes it possible to answer the questions
- "left-right-front-rear" are hardly descriptive by itself

Am i supossed to see all 3 triggers in the trigger log with 1.1.96 firmware and subaru trigger 36-2-2-2 ??
- yes (actually triggerlog can work even for random or unsupported triggers).
- We've used triggerlogging 3 triggers extensively on BMW-double-Vanos engine [

the cam control table in vemstune have a number range from 0-359
What is this number?
On a subaru the cam advance is around 45 cam degrees,if i want the cam to be half that 22.5 degrees do i put in 180 in the table og how is this number in the table used?
Thanks, Skassa
...
Its camshaft angle. If you have meassured 45deg and you set target to 50, it will try to raise the angle 5deg.
If you want the target to be 22.5 just put that in the table.

d22april 2012.
I´m trying to get my own subaru to run,
36-2-2-2 with acvs control.
The engine have 3vr sensors, so i have purchased a vr-hall converter from the shop,But it seems that there is no output from the pcb ,other then a diveded by 4 or devided by 8 signal,
and that does not work,
I have been measuring the converter and it looks like there is no connetion to pin 12 on the lm1815,
am i supposed to solder a wire direct to pin12 to get the signal i need?
this is what i have done now, but i didnt even get from the house to the garage before the wire was broken of :(
So is this how its meant to be used??

Hi All,
Could someone please check the trigger, injector, and ignition settings, for the Subaru 6/7 trigger, to check if this can work,it´s running oe cops, so it would be great if it could run fully sequ...(cant spell that),wasted spark would also be fine!
the firing order of a Subaru is 1-3-2-4

nputTrigger/SubaruTrigger works with 1.0.x (not with 1.1.x yet n 2007-12)
thank you very much, i will give it a go /Skassa
Here is a subaru turbo fuel system manual, with all explaning.
http://www.mediafire.com/?e3njludn2nt
I´m now going to mount a Vems on a Subaru Legacy turbo 92´, it´s running the same trigger system as the Impreza
http://www.vems.hu/wiki/index.php?page=InputTrigger%2FSubaruTrigger
Anyone have had the engine running with the oe trigger setup, without modification to the trigger wheels ?
Do You think it can be successfull ?
- yes, the posted 36-2-2-2 trigger pattern was working both with and without camsync (and is still very likely to work with 1.2.x firmware)
- or do I have to modify the wheels?
- no, just start a project page for your install (thematically! quickly forget this page!), and collect info like triggerlog, config, description of setup
Looking forward to comparing notes on this - I have a big power 2.3 Impreza to tune next year [dnb]
I would like to use the knocksensor, and i have already wired it in,but i cant get any reading,
how can i make one of the gauges in megatune to show noise?
So i can define what noise is knock
DO anyone know how a gauge en megatune, can be configered to show the noise it reads from the knocksensor?.If any of you are familer with the LINK Knocklink, you know what i mean,as this shows noise on five leds, and when running full trottle maybe 2 leds will light, but if you get knock, they all fire up , with a big red one in the top,
This have got to be the part that are missing,so the knocksensing can be of great use
Send me a PM/email on the VEMS UK forum and I'll send you my VEMS_v3.ini file - I have added some extra parameters to make knock logging easier. Something like the knocklink, but with more LEDs...
I'm also working on a way to make tuning the knock more straight forward... More on this later when I know it works! [dnb]
when i make a datalog, and view the log, megatune is 2-3 degees of in advance is this normal?.
Also if i in the sparktable ,write 16degree , then the advance gauge is only showing 14degrees, check knock_default_retard since knock_default_retard=08 this is correct.
I dont hope that it just retard this 2 degrees, without knock,Does it do that?
A Yes - knock_default_retard is a silly parameter that just offsets the whole ign table. I got caught out with this while back. [dnb]
there is also a big change in fuel, with inlet temp,
When i have the car in idle,it can go from lambda 0.9 at around 25iat degrees, to lambda 1.1 at 45 degrees,
After you tuned the WARM engine, adjust warmup enrichment, that is warmup_clt[]
Or EGO needs to be alot more then 5%, to make up for this.
ego rich limit at 5% is just fine once the VE table is properly tuned. It avoids a nasty positive feedback effect on rich misfire, so best left at 5% to 10%. (I note you said inlet temp, not coolant temp...)
I think your IAT problem is one of heatsoak - the sensor gets hot so it reads the engine temperature, not the air temperature so it leans out the fuel due to temperature much more than it should. There is a parameter to stop this happening but I don't remember exactly what it's called. Something like "fake airden low limit".
Also, the temperature sensor calibration may not be correct - worth testing this since it will induce a lambda error that is strongly correlated with temperature at all operating points. (Not good in a turbo car) [dnb]
