Introduction
In the progress of installing Genboard 3.3 on a Yamaha R6 engine, a 600cc motorcycle engine from the year 2000. Had som initial problems, but now the engine has fired up! Just have to adjust it to run properly.
Data on the setup/install
The engine is an 600cc, inline 4-cyl, fourstroke motorcycle engine. Revlimit ~15500rpm, firingorder 1342. I'm using the stock passive COP, connected in series (=> wastefire). Injectors are high impedance Bosch-units of standard design.
The CPS is working together with a 8-1 wheel (modified stock wheel from a '05 Yamaha Fazor motorcycle, perfect fit on this engine). No cam sensor.

The GenBoard is a preassembled v3.3-board with the following options:
4+4 ignition drivers
Knock + 2 EGT
250kPa onboard MAP
VR Primary Trigger
Hall Secondary trigger
Trigger problem
The engine currently runs fine on the dyno, but I have an ignition timing problem.
- 8-1 trigger wheel: 1 tooth is 45 crankdegrees
- triggering on the second tooth. What does this mean ? trigger_tooth=02 ? (dump config with Manmcd, and publish it)
- which gives only fifteen degrees to TDC. Since I want to be able to run with an advance of about 50-55 deg, this is way to little.
- When I try to change configuration to trigger on another teeth (e.g. teeth #1, which gives 60 degrees to play, not 75!) - the engine won't start. I've tried every possible configuration.
- Publish what you try in exact terms (trigger_tooth=..).
- You likely made a mistake in the calculation. Decreasing trigger_tooth by one means going from 15 to 60 degrees, NOT 75 as you wrote !!! So you change ign_tdcdelay by adding 45 degrees (add decimal 90 if you do it in the config.txt file, because unit is 1/2 degree)
