During winter trying to set up vems to Porsche
- Note that VEMS can be configured as "auditrigger" sec. trigger setup and accept Porsche 944 Turbo stock starter gear ring+crank home trigger arrangement. A bit more work perhaps, but install will be neat and clean (i.e. no additional trigger wheel etc).
Has anybody really got VEMS workin with Porsche original trigger, wich are 130 tooth flywheel (vr sensor) and
1 reference tooth on flywheel (vr sensor)?
A V3.3 ordered for Porsche original trigger (auditrigger) can use
- primary trigger VR (which can be either crank or cam) with sectrig disabled
- or primary trigger=VR and secondary=VR
- but primary trigger=VR and secondary=HALL requires removing a small solderblob at the bottom of the board slightly under the FETs (in good light conditions possible with just endplate removed)
Peep Padam: Any pictures of yor cranksensor arrangements? If I have understood right you have 2 tooth on crank and hall?
Is there any benefit to use 60-2 or just two tooth considering VEMS.
A: MembersPage/MagnusKarlstrom has his 944 working on original 130teeth+crank home signal.
You have to order VEMS as secondary trigger auditrigger option.
It's better to have tooth wheel than simple trigger. Simple 2 points trigger is good for cars that don't have any trigger setup originally (carb or mechanical injection).
Question: about plug and play motronic. Wonder does the shielding of vr sensors work if i use some kind of daughterboard to install VEMS to motronic connector? Any experience?
- apparently most people solders wire between the VEMS genboard (mainboard) and the motronic connector (a bit hack, but it works, and some hotmelt secures it mechanically).
