I have installed a Mazda 323 turbo with very good result.
Q: What year/type of engine is it ? What type of trigger and ignition system was used?
I have a similar project I wish to start : MembersPage/MattiasSandgren/WillmanRallyMazda
Engine and turbo are completely stock. Boost pressure has been raised to 1.1 bar.
Installed bigger intercooler.
On high boost, inlet air temperature gets high, so we installed water spray on intercooler.
Sprays is commanded based on RPM.
Is it possible to steer output based on inlet air temperature?
- currently not directly. However als input and throttle kicker output could be used to activate the water spray.
- it's rather simple to make a threshold-actuator (we're making one to actuate an output on MAP-relative fuel pressure below threshold, so ask in webshop in a few weeks), but it might be too late for the water-spray.
Further we want to protect the engine if there is loss of oil-pressure. Can we use an input to "stop" the engine?
- ALS can be used to command ignition cut, see MembersPage/GaborRacz/NewAlsLaunchAndOthers
- or launch can also be used to limit RPM (very low, eg. 100 RPM would stop the engine)
- but it might be a better idea to warn the driver with a bright red light, so he can decide what he wants to do (in some situations stopping the engine while the car is at the worst place - highway bridge inner lane - is bigger risk)
Kind regards
