Jonas Olssons BMW 1602
Engine specification
- BMW M10, 2.0 litre crank, stock rods and Mahle forged pistons
- Schrick cam shaft (300+ degrees duration)
- Individual Throttle Bodies
- Ford Motorsport 1600 cc fuel injectors, 5 Ohm impedance
- BMW Coil-on-Plug from S38 engine (coils mounted on firewall)
- Simple type, Honeywell GT1 Hall-sensor on crank and cam
Q: Can the Genboard v3.4 support two Honeywell GT1 sensors (fed from pin 28 +5V) ?
- you experienced voltage falling below +4.5V ?
- are you sure using EC36pin28 (not 29) ?
- what is the measured current draw of your honey ?
- A: I have wired 2 sensors on pin 28 using a v3.3 board, worked properly, Used a soldered junction in engine bay. Just stay away from pin 29. This was one the alfa romeo V6
Q: Can they be wired to +12V (same fuse as the Genboard) with no ill effects?
- I'd be concerned at least. The +12V can have spikes (related to alternator charge-control, and/or starting aid).
- we can give you small mapboard (sensors, 400kPa MAP sensors) "bare pack" with 5V regulator installed (with caps, and transient diodes) that is safer than directly +14V.
