Since I don't have my own (engine- and mechanical) workshop, I outsource most mechanical works (and storage).
For project: MembersPage/MarcellGal/EngineSwap.
Aspects
- they allow some storage from time to time
- help me with the operations (for fee, of course).
- ideally it should be walk or bike (1..5km) distance from where I live (Budapest IX). At the same time, I could teach them ECM and electronic aspects if they like.
It seems that will be http://www.proex.hu/ (Budapest,X.Koer u.6) workshop. The proex is actually the smaller shop on the same location, that manages the exhaust manufacturing (the preturbo part from stainless). There is also a bigger shop for engine and other repairs sharing the same yard and security (dogs :-) but different owner. Boss and contract-contact is Miklos Nemeth, +36209557798.
Old method
A businessmen goes into the bank.
- I want a $100 loan for 2 months.
- You don't need to "loan", since you have $1300000 on your bank account. You can simply take $100 from that.
- I want a $100 loan, else I take all my money from this bank.
- OK.
- I'd like to leave my BMW at the bank as assurance (deposit, what's it called ?).
- You don't need to leave any deposit.
- I'd like to leave my BMW at the bank, else I take all my money from this bank.
- OK, as you wish.
The businessman goes home and tells his wife:
- we can go on holiday now. I found a very safe guarded place for the BMW for $1/month.
I hope similar trick will work, and I wont have problem with the storage of the engine and car in the transition phase. We didn't contract with the engine-shop for exact tasks. Only for the basic engine-swap without them making wire and air connections. That allows me to solve the urgent storage issue now (2004.12.30), and while the exhaust is being made I'll have at least 7..10 days to connect the new engine so the car becomes drivable again.
I hope I can get the engine-shop to help (for reasonable prices) with the charge-cooler and turbo oil and water piping at least.
