Flyback and Injector Driver Options Discussion.
Intro
- from what I am reading, there are 4 different ways to control the injectors. 1)PWM 2)powerflyback 3)diode 4)diode/resistor
- I found this:
So far 30v transient Suppresor diodes and 6.8 ohm resistor seems to be the best setup for Low-Z.
Talking Points
1)What is the best injector control setup for low-z injectors?(Delphi 96#,Siemens 83# and 72#)
2)What is the best injector control setup for high-z injectors?(Mototron 60#,OEM VW/Bosch injectors)
- EG: Do you need flyback board for high-z,does it increase the performance of the injectors? If not then I could save money on the units spec'd out for high-z.
- Marcell said: I would definitely use high-Z injectors, and 30V transient diode flyback. That's the easiest to tune, and most smooth idle. It's very easy to bypass the 30V with powerflyback, if one has to tune a setup with low-Z injector in some occasion.
3)Is there a flyback setup that can be used with both?(less ecus to stock, no tedious work later adding the flyback board)
4) What about running an external injector driver? Can this do any harm to the ECU? Is there a performance advantage?
5) Anyone run Bosch 160#, 5 ohm injectors on VEMS?
6) Is there any OEM resistor boxes that can be used?(cheap, readily available, heat sink included) - Or are the resistors in the Webstore the best option?
