I have used motec on GSXR1000 last year in a team which I had worked in. Motec M-800 is great but it is expensive. Genboard seem to have same or superior hardware specifications.

On the other hand, Megasquirt is not designed for racing use and it haven´t some fuctions than are very usefull in racing:
- Quick shifter - to shift up with full throttle. It is very simple method, if you are full throttle and you try to shift then you feel than lever is very hard and it is unable to move because torque make impossible gears to be un-engaged. If you make quick throttle closing movement then next gear will be quick engaged, but you have lost 0.5 full throttle seconds and some rider concentration. - Lower gear power output reduction - The GSXR and motoGP bikes have a shift gear position sensor, In the lower gears the engine power output is decreased. By the time 6th gear is selected the engine realises its full potential. The natural way for controlling power would be drivebywire but stock motorbikes haven´t it. Without drivebywire (==manual throttle), it can be done with ignition retard. Ways for controlling power:
- Ignition retard
- Gear...........1......2....3....4....5....6
- ignition.....15.....10....5....0....0....0 Looks simple. (but I doubt it gives the desired power-cut without event-skipping or air-control; too much retard will have the destructive ALS exhaust-heating effect, without the turbo-spooling benefits that justify ALS).
- injection..-20....-10...-5....0....0....0 (would be simple to implement, but this must be a bad joke, read about melting valves?)
- DriveByWire or secondary butterfly.
- event-skipping like F1 but very scandalous.

Motorcycle Engine eddy current dynamometer
We have instaled a motec to work with a gsxr600 engine, this engine have been installed on a engine dynamometer for long time to make a precise adjust work, and I want to test the genboard at the same time than motec ones.
My new dyno photos, The brake is a eddy current retarder from Telma, The engine is connected to the brake by chain drive with the chainwheel mounted over torque dumper.

Adaptor PCB with stock Suzuki GSXR connectors
I prefer to build a PCB adaptor and use original connector, in this way, this ecu is plug and play in any efi suzuki engine.

This adaptor have a conditioning circuit for original pick-ups (cam and crank) copied from original ecu (very small SMD and silicone packed).
IGBT´s have been placed in this board because original genboard will be cuted to reduce dimensions.
My first testings
Last two weeks I have been building a test bench with a car engine, The reason is than I haven´t GSXR engine, the team i was working for have broken, and i want to have a stable test bench to test anything without ask to anybody.

I´m using GSXR COPS in wasted spark ,My objetive is to add a cam sensor and use it in fully sequencial.
I´m going to continue trying to install a genboard in a motorbike, Now there are a posible project with yamaha R6 engines.
My configuration questions
I have my engine running with fully sequencial ignition!!!, At the moment I have found one only minor problem, It seems to it mainly accurs with low battery. The first turn during crancking seems to apears strange firing sequence, the sequence is ign03, ign03, ign2 and ign1 (yes!!! ign03 are fired two times) and only one ignition is fired in correct cylinder!!! , With low battery it ocurrs continuously and engine don´t start, with charged battery it occurs one only time and the next cycle the engine starts without problem (some times it makes a ugly explosions when start for intake or exhaust)
It is possible genboard was detecting a incorrect missing tooth due to cylinder compresion? without spark only one first turns accurs.
- can you take InputTrigger/TriggerLog and publish the log so we can decide if that was the case ?
Is it possible to config the missing tooth detection as percentage of normal tooth?
- Currently not.
A suggestion, It seems the engine with genboard delay the start time compared with original ignition system (distributor), It could be interesting to make wasted spark during cranking to accelerate the engine start.
