We are a couple of guys doing our project work on The car electronics program(Bilelektronik) at Elof Lindälvs Gymnasium in Kungsbacka south of Gothenburg in Sweden.
The engine we should perform the VEMS on is a Volvo engine called B5234T or a B5254T we're not sure yet. 5 cyl engine in any case.
We've got two identical engines with some parts that is gone but one should be able to be complete.
We have not ordered our genboard yet but we should take the discussion with the "economic man" as soon as possible so it wont take too long time.
Well i'm going to keep you as updated as i can.
It would be nice if someone who has done the instalation on this type of engine before could help us with some knowledge.

Trigger section
Trigger is the most important part to get right: if this is sorted, the rest should not be too hard (although everything requires some research and planning)
- 60-2 crankwheel - confirmed by Emil
- VR (just a guess). Emil disassembled a 850R engine once, and that one had 60-2 drilled into the flywheel (VR or HALL sensor ??). Johan will do some research
- 1 pulse on cam (HALL) - confirmed by Emil
Trigger is very similar to 5cyl audi with aftermarket 60-2 wheel.
VE
Even if this engine is not very common, the head is the same as 4cyl volvo-s, so starting VE map can be borrowed (easy to tune with the wideband in any case).
RE:sounds really good for me =)
Ignition table
of a similar 4cyl can also be used, as long as the compression ratio (CR) is close too. Good starting point should not be a problem anyway.
Wiring
Econoseal is worth its price, planning to use that.
- Do you need some "special" wire to conect into the Econoseal?
- 0.5 or 0.75mm2 silicone insulation wires are most common (cheapie car manufacturers use PVC, but that is being phased out). We want to get more (striped) colors, see http://wiki.x-dsl.hu/cgi-bin/w/elparts.cgi?Cable/Silicone
