Project is incomplete, with several issues.
Please only install DBW / [Electronic Throttle] if install is completely documented, verified, flawless, and runs without issues. This install is not "there" yet.
"tach output is not working"...
- EC36/pin4 p259/ch0 tach output was damaged (output pulling to GND .. 0.5V continuously with no other damages apparent)
- It was replaced, tested, and damaged again, same way
Please install a 100 Ohm protection resistor in the harness connected to the Tach gauge
- We verified the big tach gauge works with 100 (or even with 120) Ohm input resistor. Even pullup resistor is not needed, so easy to use a free injector output or ignition output or a free working p259 output (EC36/pin15 or EC36/pin16 also suitable).
Make sure that outputs are not accidentally shorted to +12V
EC36/20 inj-D output
- Where is it connected in the harness ? What is special about it ?
- Someone removed the internal injector NFET, and soldered a bypass wire (on mainboard) ? Why ? For what purpose ?
ECU is HALL/HALL.. Is that correct ? Is the factory sensor nonstandard ?
Primary trigger: VR or HALL ?
Measure crankshaft position sensor with resistance/Ohm meter, in both directions.
- If you find 2 pins that have the same resistance (usually between 300 Ohm and 1500 Ohm ) in both directions, that is VR. Otherwise HALL.
Secondary trigger: HALL
- NOT connected ! (please do connect !)
- BIG problem: using ign-dualout for ignition outputs is very bad, especially for per cylinder coils, especially Audi active COPs. They are very likely to fail early if driven twice the frequency... (Every crankshaft rotation, not every camshaft rotation)
- Small problem : VANOS control is not possible without secondary trigger signal.
