Goals
I'm following this project from the early days, and I'm now starting my first installs here in Brazil.
My Cars
Comment: each will be separate page when install starts to take off.
Lada Niva
This will be the first one. It is a Lada Niva 1991, that actually has a VW AP2000 ethanol engine, still on carburator, that is receiving a crossflow head from a 1994 Golf and a K16 small turbocharger.
Q: What trigger does this have ? 60-2 VR crank ? Any camsync ?
A: As this is a hybrid engine (VW AP2000 1986 carburator engine with VW Golf 2.0 8V head), it has currently a distributor with mechanical advance.
I guess the easiest trigger to implement would be switching the current distributor to a later one that would be a Hall distributor.
Other option is to disable the mechanical advance but I'm not sure how to setup the current distributor with VEMS.
There is no cam sync, at least for this very first setup.
60-2 VR crank is another option.
Opel Calibra
Second will be an Opel Calibra 1995, with a C20XE engine will forged pistons, 9.5:1 compression ratio, already running on ethanol (stock Motronic 2.8) and will also receive a turbocharger.
This car has a cam sync and I will try to use every already deployed sensors.
Other Cars
Audi RS2
I will also help a friend installing VEMS in an Audi RS2, engine code ADU 003151, with several performance upgrades...
