Coolant Temp Sensor
- NTC or PTC and what the resistance is at 25degrees Celsius
Intake Air Temp (IAT) aka Manifold Air Temp (MAT) Sensor
- NTC or PTC and what the resistance is at 25degrees Celsius
- Is it an exposed or potted sensor
Oxygen Sensor
- WBO2 highly recommeded (BOSCH LSU4 can be had for < 40USD)
- NBO2 output for external display
Knock Sensor
- 1 or 2 channels
EGT
- K-type thermocouple non-grounded see webshop
Electrically controlled accessories
- Fuel Pump
- Coolant Fan (hysterisis from coolant sensor)
- Electric Water pump (hysterisis from coolant sensor)
Fuel Injectors
Throttle Position Sensor
- Typically varible resistor style ( TPS calibration)
- one user has made a combination MAP/Limit switch based version wikipage
Boost or Naturally Aspirated
Boost
- Boost controller type (mechanical, pnuematic, electric/pnuematic)
- Boost vs. TPS, RPM, MAP control
- Max boost (MAP sensor, kpafac)
Naturally aspirated
- Standard throttle body ( MAP kpafac)
- Individual Throttle body (MAP / Alpha-N blending (TPS based fueling) )
Idle Control
- On/off style air bypass
- PWM sytle air bypass
- Ignition based idle control
- Ignition cut based idle control
Basic accessories
- Fuel pump control
- Coolant Fan control (Hysterisis based on clt sensor output)
- Electric water pump control (Hysterisis based on clt sensor output)
Tachometer output
Race Inspired Features
- WOT (1x) accessory activation
- RPM (1x) accessory activation
- TPS+RPM+MAP (2x) (misc output settings) accessory activation
- AntiLagSystem special turbo feature that mayblowupyourengine
- shift cut
- RPM based Launch control (ALS hooked in)
This checklist is broken into xx major sections
- Genboard hookup/modifications
- Engine monitoring sensors
- WBO2 setup
- Trigger setup (coil or multitooth)
- Injector setup
- Ignition setup
- System Test
- Final calibrations
- test start
- Advanced Features (shiftcut/ALS/WOT actuators)
- tuning advice
Examples to be provided are a VW, 4 clyn, 60-2 wheel and coiltype
Genboard hookup/modifications
[_] GenBoard assembled see StepByStepGuide
Engine monitoring sensors
- [_] Battery Calibration (AREF setup)
- [_] IAT/MAT
- [_] CLT
- [_] MAP (kpafac)
WBO2 Setup
[_] WBO2
- [_] nernst_taget adjustment
- [_] pump_zero check/adjust (advanced or from email)
- [_] Free air calibration
Trigger Setup
For this part you may only chose either Multitooth or Coiltype
Multitooth
- [_] Primary Trigger setup
- Optional for wasted spark/required sequential Ignition
- [_] Secondary Trigger setup
Coil-type
- [_] Number of clynders
- [_] Rising Edge
- OR
- [_] Trailing edge
Injector setup
- Note: while injector may be wired in many series parallel combinations, it is suggested that all injectors be wired individually. That means one INJ output per injector sharing a common fused +12V .[see picture] reference: PortInjected/SequentialInjection
[_] Divider should be one if you followed above, else it will be the number of banks you setup
[_] Alternate bands from h[0] (point of confusion if each injector is wired individually
[_] Fire banks while cranking [All_banks] once again point of confusion
[_] HighZ
- [___] Measure resistance of each injector (should be from 10-15ohms)
- [_] estimated time to open @13.5V (alternator running)
- Low battery info
- [_] estimated time to open @ 6.0V ( low charge start )
- [_] batteryfac .. no idea
[_] LowZ
- [___] Measure resistance of each injector (should be from 2-6ohms)
- [_] estimated time to open @13.5V (alternator running)
- [_] estimated time to open @ 6.0V ( low charge start )
- [_] injector Peak Time
- [_] injPWM DC (%)
- Low battery info
- [_] batteryfac .. no idea
- [_] injPWM DC added @6.0V (%)
Injector Outputs
This is on a seperate tab to help eliminate accidental changes
See thiswikipageonfuelinjectors to describe how to set them up
Ignition setup
[_] Ignition type
- [_] Still using stock distributor [coil-type trigger]
- [_] Wasted Spark using coilpacks [Multi-tooth trigger, Primary only]
- [_] Wasted Spark using CoilOnPlug [Multi-tooth trigger, Primary only] requires DualOut enabled
- [_] Sequential COP or similar [Multi-tooth trigger, requires Primary and secondary trigger]
- [_] Ingition outputs to use in h[2].. ingition outputs tab
- [_] Ignition Driver Type
- Dummy everything except EDIS
- EDIS -- If you are not using this use dummy
- [_] Invert driver mode this is DISABLED in all but some developer boxes and can destroy your coil.
- [_] Dual Output Mode Required for wasted spark COP or equvalent see wikipageregarinddualoutcode
- [_] Coil Charge time @ 14V (milliseconds)
- [_] Coil Charge time @ 6V (milliseconds)
