Coil Over Ignition page
I plan to use COPs from the new BMW engines:
These are from a new 3-series car (E90)
I measured
- ~1 ohm resistance between the two bottom pins
- direct contact (0 Ohm) between the third pin and the outer core of (unshielded part of) the tube.
- However HV plug-connection doesn't seem to connect to anything
- maybe 10..20 kOhm towards the shield pin ? If you can measure this, the transformer is likely OK
Question:
- Where can I find such special connectors?
- How much dwell might be necessary?
- probably short, start with 1 .. 1.5 msec well, measure supply current (at known RPM) so we know
