#1085 ECU repair arrangement page
VEMS V3.3 no. 1085 (Istvan Nagy's previous ECU) had some electrical issues in the past and now can't keep stable RS-232 connection, has sudden restarts, broken outputs.
The consensus was mainboard replacement. I'm collecting the new gut details here:
- BMW M54 engine, HALL+HALL triggers
- cable driven throttle
- 300/400kPa MAP (simple nipple)
- 6 logic ignition outputs + 2 IGBT
- LCD
- 30V flyback
- 2 knock channel
Other accesories needed:
- 6 pieces of VAG COP connectors
M54 note
Might not have been so on this ECU, but it is common to request 2..4 NFETs (eg. 2 NFETs useful for vanos solenoids), otherwise it is very easy to run out of outputs on M54
