GenBoard/VerThree install on Honda B16A2 engine
- initially naturally aspirated, but later for turbo version
Trigger
There are 3 transmitters with toothcount 1,4,24 in the distributor (with honda PGM-FI ECM pin numbers):
- 1 (B11 ?) Autodata lists 0.2V for cranking, 0.7V at idle and 2.5V at 3000 RPM for B11
- 4 (B13 ?) Autodata lists 0.4V for cranking, 1.5V at idle and 5V at 3000 RPM for B13
- B12 Autodata lists 0V for cranking, idle and 3000 RPM (this must be ground line)
- B14 Autodata lists 0V for cranking, idle and 3000 RPM (this must be ground line)
As you see, autodata suggests that these are VR signals (amplitude increases with RPM).
If above is true (2 VR signals), the assembled ECM auditrigger configuration should be used without the cam-HALL connected.
Any confirmation would be welcome.
From the Honda service manual
- TDC Sensor (1 tooth) VR+ orange/black (b13) VR- white/blue (B14)
- CKP (24 tooth) VR+ blue/green (B15) VR- blue yellow (B16)
- CYP (4 tooth) VR+ orange (B11) VR- white (B12)
[MembersPage/PhatBob] There is no need for the Audi Trigger, as we should be able to use a configuration similar to this:
http://www.vems.hu/wiki/index.php?page=MembersPage%2FMichaelRichards%2FProjects%2FNicksGTX%2FTrigger
This is almost exactly the same trigger type as the Toyota ones I'm looking at in VehicleFitment/Toyota.
With the 24 pin for engine speed and the tdc/sync sensor you should be able to get VEMS running fully sequential injection and even coil on plug!
