Update Dec 23,2007 - abandoned port to PIC. Abandoned PICs in general. In a world of GNU it makes no sense to use PIC.
See that ARM controllers are being used. Cool. Free compilers, more powerful than PICs, cheaper per function.

Hi Gene. Though ARM is still a future thing, PC regression testing of a better structured firmware is planned. Qemu is possible, but "simply" compiling on x86 (separated HAL makes it possible) and running tests on PC is of great help for quality assurance, wether the code is finally compiled for AVR or ARM.
