My config is:
NoteBook Win 7 + RS232/USB cable, 1 Genboard on bench fw 1.2.43 with 2nd RS232 output, 1 Genboard on car fw 1.2.43 with 2nd RS232 output, 1 Round-AfreshTiny type 2 on car fw 1.5.50, last VT with all the last ini.
My purpose is to have the car Genboard sending AIM stream via 2nd RS232 to Round and Round displaying AIM data. See BroadcastDatastreamAimSecondSerial
Probably easy when one knows but not so for me :)
1) Installing the 2nd RS232 on the 2 Genboards: Better to have at hand the datasheet of MAX232, find out carefully the R1IN (13), T1 OUT(14) pins of the chip on the board, how they connect to the Genboard output pins and next the R2IN (8) and T2OUT(7) pins.
2) Getting AIM data output from the bench Genboard on a Notebook terminal in hexa. I found an application for that. I got an hexa stream alright as soon as the Genboard is power on.
- Fine but I am unable to identify the successive AIM frames?? -> issue pending
- MembersPage/HankMoody/AIM : some AIM frame examples, every 5th byte is A3
3) Is the Round of the car still working? I let it down 5 years ago. From VT, I update good the fw to 1.5.50 which is AIM compatible for Round type 2, I upload a default config and made a log.
4) Playing with VT-Round menu and help pages. I go to VT/Display/MainDisplaySettings -> VemsTune.exe crash anytime :(. I make an Error Report, without answer yet.
5) This morning I thought to tell Win7 that VT has to be XP compatible instead. -> No crash. The window MainDisplaySettings seems to offer full possibility to test incoming AIM stream Hurrah... (so more to come)
