I have access to wiring diagrams for any vehicle available in North American 1983-present. Sometimes I can cross it over to Rest Of World cars. If you need schematics for anything, feel free to email me. alandaeric at hotmail dot com

ITS ALIVE!!!!
Cut the old p259 out with a dremel, soldered in the new one, checked all the solder joints for continuity and plugged into the test bench. I now have rpm, will finish testing tomorrow.
P259 likely dead, pulling internal 5V supply shared by P259 and the LM1815 (VR trigger chip) down - preventing triggering
From the symptoms, and the fact that GND was ripped for some time, this is likely.
To confirm this, after disassembling, power up the device (don't forget all GND and GND5 connections) and measure the LM1815 supply (pin8 should measure +5V from measured from GND). Maybe removing only endplate allows this measurement (especially easy if no MAP sensor).
- Measured the voltage at pin 8 to gnd the other day, it was .88v if I remember right. May have measured the wrong pin because I did it off the top of my head but I'm sure pin 8 was the one I choose. Either way, checked all LM1815 pins, none have 5 volts.
Tried to start the truck the other day
- MegaTune comm works
- LCD works
- no rpm signal or wheel error
- no fuel pump activity (untill I hit the brake pedal, then it wouldnt shut off) nothing working as far as I could tell.
- Put the ecu on my test bench, all sensors readings look fine in megatune, I can upload firmware, everything looks ok untill I try and do an mdh command.
- I noticed the fuel pump channel, p259 ch 5 doesnt turn on. Tried some other channels, none of the P259 channels work at all
- I went out to the truck to check the wiring, found 1 wire ripped out of ecu, the EC36 pin 26 ground wire. Connected.
- Disabled all the channels since mdh.. can only control free outputs.mdh can not manipulate channels that are enabled in config and therefore reserved => controlled by the ECM and tested with the mdhcommand.
- All the I259 channels are good 0v when off and 4.93v when on (using logic level trigger for coils with built in amplifier) when measured to gnd.
- All s259 channels seem good OFF .54V ON 11.63v
- All P259 show 0V all the time When measured to 12v
- We use multiple gnd5 pins. (good!)
- is it ok to use multiple gnd pins too or would that cause noise issues?
- multiple GND are good, it will NOT cause noise problems if the sensor GND (most importantly VR-) is connected near the EC26pin26 (not in the GND5 current path)
