Optical primary trigger page for MembersPage/EricN/Trigger
Planning on using 12-1 trigger wheel mounted in the distributer.
Trying an optical trigger now, followed instructions for Hall sensor on primary trigger as per manual.
Have some questions. Went to the local electronics store and picked up an OPB804 optical switch. Built it into this little circuit that I found on the internet
Changed the 1k resister to 100ohm, voltage at led is 1.25v to gnd (normal for an infrared LED). Using pullup on vems
- signal high (beam blocked) is 4.6V (good, since it goes higher than 2V)
- low is .25V to gnd (good, since it goes under 0.6V)
Optical trigger no better, pc signal generater the same.
Traced trigger signal right to pin 29 on atmega128, signal looks identical on scope when compare to signal at the wire, suspect problem is in config, want to start with a clean config.
publish:
- mcd dump (don't forget that in some cases it's necessary to reboot after trigger related changes had been saved! eg. to enable the trigger if it was disabled)
- we'll check primary_trigger (=01 expected for multitooth; don't apply advanced multitooth filter with =09 first)
- secondary_trigger=02 (disabled for now)
- tooth_wheel=0B # 12-1 = 11
- mct dump
- after (Man)mdkffmdf01 .. let it run for some time while you apply trigger .. mdf00 (disables output) save the result (many "benchstat" numbers) and publish. We'll see if the relevant counters count.
