After some problems with injectors its seems to be nice to have a simple injector tester on the bench.
The testing device should be able to:
- fire injectors at a preset pulswidth
- set a number or time of injections
- check flow a minute
- check spray pattern
- cleaning the injectors with solvent instead of fuel
- Measure Ramp-up time.
- Measure Ramp-down time.
- Measure flow decline with lowering voltage.
Searching the internet for a simple PIC controller i found the website of [Roman Black]
with his shift1 project. The shift1 could be used for its timer and LCD features and having the PIC driving 1 or more LM1949 cirquits to drive the injectors.
The injectors can be holded by a bracket wich connects fuel line and a fuel sensor so measring flow at diffrent fuel pressures gives a idea of the volume the injectors can flow at lower or higher pressures. Spraying must be done in a glassy box or tube.
A long glass flowerpot for a single injector or a old fishtank for multiple injectors can be used.
To be continued.
