Ok, i tried reproducing the serial loopback in terminal to get AVREF11 and it wouldn't show back up again. Now all i get is just the <0> under regular serial connection. I know i may have dug myself a hole that I'm having problems getting out of, but with your help i should be able to fix it...either that or i'm buying a V3.3 board heh...

Alright, thank you very much, the serial loopback got me back where i was. I removed the t from the -wtE on the upload-firmware12x12.bat file. Now I'm left with this.

Last time I pulled my VEMS out and played with it I managed to get it stuck in bootloader: in the 19200 baud I got "AVREFI1" output.

I didn't play with it too much after that and put it back in its case and back into storage. Now just as of recent I've pulled it back out and really started to get back to work on it and I can't reproduce anything.

I've checked over my serial connections. Describe, how.

I made my own ecu cable out of cat 5 (or it may be older telecommunications wires as each wire is multi stranded) and check for any resistance or shorts from one end to the other.

Yes, successful, i get everything i type in back.

  • when I try uploading firmware, all I get is "No hello from AVR"

Advice?

Measure a few more things:

Supply voltage and supply current draw of the board

Onboard supply voltages, including the 4..5 supply (+5V) of the processor

Try ECU serial loopback

This is where my car sits right now, I'm down to some of the last few details for getting it running and one of those hangups is my VEMS V3.2. I've had the controller for a while but have just recently been needing to use it.

My coil pack setup, my only fear with this setup is finding a way to get rotary trailing split to work.
