I would like to buy a VEMS ECU actually two. Both are for BMW M62B44 (No Vanos). As these two engines have different modifications
I will split it to engine 1 & engine 2 and use your template to describe each however both are the same
Is this page for "Dominik" ?
Cool. minor note: when installing, make it separate page for each project (to avoid disambiguaty)
Stock M62 parameters:
- V8
- STOCK ECU BOSCH DME M5.2
- No VANOS
- 8 injectors STOCK Bosch
- 8 coils "passive"
- 4 channel Knock sensing
- Cam sensor Stock (Hall)
- Crank sensor on flywheel, don't know real type but it is magnetic.
- ABS ring wheel speed signal
- Idle : ZWD "idle speed is controlled on the M62 engine by means of a two-winding rotary actuator"
Engine 1:
- Natural aspirated
- 8x Stock Coil
- ITB from S62 also with injectors (should have same control as stock)
- Alfa N
- Intake air pressure
- Drive by Wire actuator from S62 / not mandatory
- Stock Idle control (M62 and S62 have the same idle valve)
- Stock sensors
- Controlled Thermostat removed
- 2x wide band
- 2x EGT
- 2x Knock
- Can bus (output for S54 instrument cluster, Display)
- Can bus for external communication (send & receive)
- PWM eletric FAN control
- Speed sensing S62 ABS rings on rear axle
- Flat shift
Engine 2:
- Forced induction (twin turbo)
- 8x Stock Coil
- 8x injector Siemems DEKA 80LB High Impedance EV1 (110324 FI114992)
- Intake Air pressure Intake Air temperature
- Drive by Wire electric throttle actuator Stock N62, Stock electric pedal S54
- Controlled Thermostat removed
- RPM depended Boost control
- ALS
- 2x wide band
- 8x EGT
- 2x Knock
- Can bus (output for S54 instrument cluster, Display)
- Can bus for external communication (send & receive)
- PWM eletric FAN control
- Speed sensing S62 ABS rings on rear axle
- Flat shift
Dominik's Mercedes V8 engine (if this page is not for Dominik, this section will move) : ECU fits our requirements, but 1 topic must be solved ;
- can we implement 8 high current [ignition drivers] => those would be able to control 2 ignition coils each.
- can we add 8 further ignition drivers to to the 8 ignition outputs (2 parallel on each output)?
yes, Either
- order with 0 IGBT (8 logiclevel), and order comment: "please add 3 clamping plates, and 1 insulatorsheet (3 lines)"
- this allows using an external heatsink to mount 16 IGBTs in 3 lines
OR
- order with 8 IGBT , and order comment: "please wire the 8 internal LOGICLEVEL IGBT gate-drives to endplate flying loom EC10 connector, and add 2 clamping plates, and 1 insulatorsheet (2 lines)"
- this allows using an external heatsink to mount 8 IGBTs in 2 lines
Fitting all 16 IGBT-s inside ECU (although theoretically possible, of course, mechanically could fit) does not sound a good idea. Assembly would be more difficult, errorprone, and cooling might be insufficient (depends on current of course).
The clamping plates are free of charge (if mentioned in the order comment when ordering ... not in email after).
