Please disconnect outputs initially (every output you can), and enable after
- Ohm measurement
- output test measurement
- regardless of any assumption (eg. this worked earlier, ...)
We received a report that some outputs activated by p259 does not actually activate (including BMW52/73 DME relay and BMW52/69 fuel pump).
- Known: the outputs certainly activated properly during tests, before sending the device.
- the report did not have config, vemslog and measurement details, so cannot be verified, but it might suggest p259 got damaged somehow
- maybe something small (misconfiguration, "safe mode" or similar), but if some output is misdocumented or misunderstood, this might be the only way to know.
- Note: Some outputs might be difficult to disconnect (hopefully it's not those that cause problem).
- M52/pin9 (p259/2) fuel consumption output
- M52/pin20 (p259/4) CEL (check engine light)
another BMW M52 harness (for the bench)
We received an M52 harness (and some sensors including the frequency output cam-HALL sensor), and did more tests this week.
- we had a harness earlier, but it was not confirmed to have originated from M52 (now it seems quite likely the old was also from M52)
- the new harness had DME relay so all DME relay tests could be done:
- high voltage flyback is best for DME relay output BMW52/73 , not just a diode to (EC36/23=) BMW52/87 = BMW52/54
- because it is not desired to have the DME relay solenoid slightly leak voltage to injector +12V in unpowered state (although it does not effect normal operation).
- FP relay was not included in the harness, but FP relay output activates even if loaded with 75Ohm resistor or 100 Ohm relay (given that DME relay is ALSO powered !)
