BMW M52 engine. (HALL-HALL)
Black mot88 connector lock is slightly different from the natural color M50 (either type can be used with a bit of filing).
The mot88 pinout of M52 is VERY different. So only plug in ECU explicitely made for M52. Do NOT plug in ECU made for any other type (M50 or S50 or other).

A small piece of the mot88 (usually black for M52) connector might need to be chipped away (with pliers+file) to mate the connector. This should remind of the necessary cam-hall sensor swap, see below.
Easy to apply, but NOT Plug and play
- MembersPage/BmwMFiftyTwoTriggers - HALL-HALL trigger (and trigger supply) related (cam-HALL sensor SWAP REQUIRED)
- follow same install procedure as with standard (Econoseal) v3 (with harness made by someone else) : disconnect ignition coils, injectors and other outputs initially
- before connecting output loads, verify output configuration in VemsTune, eg. the expected output is activated in order (eg. cyl, 153624)
- failing to do so might result in unspecified behavior, damage, and loss of warranty
- eg. misc output configured to inj might flood cylinder and cause hydrolock; ignition transformer ON (for more than the desired dwell time) might burn fuse or trace or IGBT output.
- note that the '''WBO2 config must match the configuration for LSU4.9 or LSU4.2 Wideband O2 sensor
Also, take care when plugging the AMP type connectors. (some have keys, like crank-HALL and cam-HALL sensor connectors). Plugging to the wrong branch will cause problem.
Idle output(s)
Please measure resistance between +12V supply (middle pin) and the idle solenoid driven by
- bmw88/pin27 output
- v3/17347 had burnt trace, that can happen eg. if output is accidentally shorted (leaving the DVM in current measurement mode typically results in shorting output to +12V when one intends to measure output activation: voltage). Plugging something else can also cause trouble (other 3 pin connector near the manifold ?)
- Trace cannot burn if idle solenoid resistance is > 10 Ohm (as normally), even if output is activated constant low in config.

- page #89 BMW88/pin9 is listed as: "TI-measurement signal (fuel consumption) Instrument cluster" and falsely listed as "E" (ecu input)
- page#101 clearly shows BMW88/pin9 being ecu output.
- p259 200mA would be enough for it, only has weak pullup.
