InputTrigger page for MembersPage/BenNesbitt
Using a 60-2 trigger wheel on the crank with a (I think) VR sensor from the 1993 12v V6 and the stock A8 4.2 cam position sensor (Hall).
MembersPage/BenNesbitt even-fire V8 engine
- For VR sensor, you always want to configure rising-edge - since the microcontroller sees the output of LM1815 (at the output of LM1815 the rising edge is precise independent of RPM - even though the LM1815 input triggers on the falling edge).
- for multitooth, disable filtering !
here is what I have in the megatune so far. Feel free to add corrections below:
Trigger tooth=2 looks good, next trigger tooth should be set to 15.
- Angular width of tooth should be 2
- angular width of missing tooth should be 6
VERY Preliminary for cam sync, the first number (don't refer to anything like "first number", it's very prone to error) should be 24. now close window and the pull down boxes will have set themself to match 24 in the top input field.
We don't know if we will sync from rising or falling edge yet as we don't have exact trigger data. But we hope that the one we choose will be around 60deg BTDC on the compression stroke. That should give us around 40 in one of the fields. FF in the other field.
The last field: Engine phase, when to reset should be 240.
Here is a pic of the ABZ cam trigger:
Trigger config will be similar to eg: MembersPage/MarcellGal/EngineSwap. Changes:
- another_trigger_tooth=0F # decimal 15, for 8cyl (15 teeth per event)
- ignchmax=07 # for 8 cyl
- alternate=07 # (=decimal 7) or 17 (=decimal 23) if you want simultaneous firing during cranking
- add the relevant config info in here, if you are not sure what part is right, ask beside it
