Mot55 AAN ECU (srl aan/21204) related information.
A customer has a problem with his new 2022-02 Vems mot55 AAN ECU (srl aan/21204)
Most likely it is at Marcus currently.
Please note: the way to get technical support is to summarize circumstances and your exact findings on THEMATICALLY editable page (not email; email is not guaranteed to arrive, not editable after sending so might contain outdated information (worse: there might be other newer versions that just waste time by having to be merged manually or might have not arrived and waste even more time or cause great confusion - a completely wrong way no matter how widely it is used), a waste of time, and not supported. Sending to arbitrary email address is especially not supported and might me neglected.
Circumstances - PLEASE FILL
First of all, please check VemsTuneVersion, especially
- "Help/update ini files from web"
- Has that been done before "firmware upload" ?
- Use the Tools/"firmware upload" (not the "firmware upgrade wizard") if you have problems.
What happened before ?
- please fill
What happened last, before the symptom occured?
- please fill
Symptom
When connected to VemsTune it say's:
"Boot mode detected. Please, choose an options.
- (Choose Stay for firmware upload/verify.)
Tried to install a new (???) firmware (please provide correct information. What exact firmware version?), but the vems keeps turning off
Is insert a fuse for power supply faulty?
What can i check? any idea?
What do you mean "keeps turning off" ?
- Vems cannot turn off by itself.
- ECU can be turned off by removing the 12V supply externally !
If firmware upload stops (fails midway ... after how many pages ?), it is
- most likely USB-RS232 adapter or USB-RS232 adapter windows driver problem
- RS232 connection or GND connection problem
- try with notebook running from battery, NOT powered by AC ! (that can cause communication problems)
- some problem with the +12V supply. Battery or harness problem ? Fix the harness so that the ECU gets good supply
- retry the firmware upload (possibly several times if necessary).
- If the firmware upload fails repeatedly multiple times despite good supply, good connection, perfect USB-RS232 and good windows driver, notebook running from battery, it is possible that some damage occured.
- Eg. excessive static electricity, or xray, or cosmic or other radioactive source, serious overvoltage, or short or excessive overload of outputs or other damage.
- if "Boot mode detected", then already in boot mode so RS232 serial port loopback will not help.
