Project description:
Drift car BMW with swapped AMG 6,3 V8 engine.
Engine is from Mercedes E-class w211 AMG m156 6,3 v8, year 2002-2009
Engine is (and will be) completely stock.
I hope that I did a lot of research and all the ambiguities were clarified. ECU ordered with 5 x HALL, seems correct (primtrig=HALL, sectrig, thirdtrig=HALL and 4th and 5th trig also HALL, those are same as wheelspeed and wheelspeed 2 inputs)
Engine configuration:
- 2x DOHC V8 with 4x variable cams and 4x cam sensors (so, i need ecu with 4x cam sensors) also 4x igbt drivers will be used for driving the solenoids)
- Crank trigger: 60-2 Hall
- 8x individual active coils (controlled by stepper driver wastedspark) OR can i use aditional 4x Hi-side PFETs to controll active coils? If yes, i ordered ECU with PFETs, if no, please remove PFETs from my order.
- 8x high impedance injectors
- Variable intake vacuum solenoid (1x igbt driver)
- 2x Electronic throttle bodies (solved: will be mechanically linked as one, so i need one H-bridge inside the ECU)
- 2x knock sensors (2x knock inputs ordered)
- 2x O2 sensors (it can't be specified during ordering, so please, made ECU with 2x LSU4.9 inputs)
VVT
. There are 4 solenoids and 4 camshaft sensors.
VEMS can control 4 cams (2 exhaust, 2 intake), with feedback from 4 cam-sensors (5 triggers total). There is no indication so far that there is any problem to control these with VEMS ECU, but exact pulsetrain information would make it more assuring.
So please, prepare for me ECU with 4x cam triggers (Hall) and 1x crank trigger (also Hall).
Another outputs:
1x igbt for fan relay
1x igbt for fuel pump relay
1x igbt for etc safety relay
so, i ordered ECU with 8x IGBTs, just for sure

INTERNAL DBW:
- +12V power supply for internal H-bridge (and DC motor)
- from EC36/pin25 (+12V)
- Fuse upgraded to 10-15A (otherwise a small 1 .. 7.5A fuse will likely blow when ETC/DBW DC motor is activated).
- In any case, take care not to short stepper outputs (to +12V or to GND). This is important even with 1A ECU fuse, so not much difference.
- The ECU should be reliable if connected properly GenBoard/Manual/GroundConnections
