VEMS V3.9 motronic55/AAN is often requested as HALL-HALL with mot55/pin48=+5V, but by default VR-audtrigger
Conversion to VR, HALL if ever needed for a non-factory setup.
InputTrigger/AudiTrigger with camHALL inverter, which means:
- mot55/pin49 primtrig=VR (originally for 135 cranktooth-VR, or other VR on crank as you prefer, nothing to do in hardware if you really have VR sensor, 60-2 VR should work, but 60-2 HALL would need modification)
- but configure for 60-2 (missing tooth trigger), not the "coiltype + auditrigger divby-3 or divby-N". Reconfigure before InputTrigger/TriggerLog
sectrig=Auditrigger with camHALL inverter
- pulling camHALL input = GND or 100 Ohm resistor to GND would allow sectrig=VR to go through unmasked (if sectrig=VR needed)
- convert to HALL by: disabling the 2nd LM1815 by removing the sectrig LM1815 (U12, closer to FET-s) output SJ7 solder-blob on the bottom (that connects LM1815pin12 output to the microcontroller input pin). This blob is on the bottom, under the FETs. output solderblob at the bottom side under the FETS so that HALL signal will reach the processor and work (VR will be ineffective as a result). Sectrig becomes:
- mot55/pin47 sectrig crankhome-VR becomes ineffective !!!
- mot55/pin8 camHALL input must be used, naturally
- make sure not accidentally configuring p259/pin2 or pin3 active (eg. via misc2out) because there might be some wire-cheat in auditrigger HW that allows software pulling the input to GND via p259 output (useful for debugging, or failed camHALL Hallgeber

For secondary trigger HALL (or sectrig unused)
- either a small blob ("electric-short" or small resistor 1k or lower) is needed between the SOT23 NPN (base and collector)
- or the NPN transistor is also perfect
- NPN inverts the signal, which is also good: sectrig edge is config-selectable falling/rising, just invert when moving config from ECU without camhall inverter to an ECU with camhall inverter.
- and capture and verify Tools / triggerlog
- Does the HALL sensor have +5V supply ?
- Is the camsync HALL signal connected to camHALL input ? (not the sectrig crankhome-VR input, which was made completely ineffective by the SJ7 solderblob=open
When connecting, specify exactly
- connected how ? Exactly, which pins... mot55/ pin12, pin13 ?
- measured what DC voltage ?
- measuring voltage on +5V and input pins, nothing on input
- measuring pin voltage, 1k pulldown between pin and GND
- +5V roughly remains +5V
- with strong internal pullup voltage drops from 4.5 ..5V to appr 1.35V
- with weak (18k) internal pullup voltage drops from 4.5 ..5V to appr 0.22V
- triggerlog
From AAN/21241 originally manufactured VR-auditrigger (not used before), removed the SJ7 solderblob but I get no response on either primary nor secondary trigger. (which pins are you trying ?)
They tried to start it with VR 60-2 on pin 47, no trigger pulses show up in VemsTune.
- Saved config also needed so we can reproduce
- If still configured for c270 (135 tooth) auditrigger, maybe triggerlog wouldn't show up (needs missing tooth trigger for TriggerLog )
