The VEMS ECM has internal clamping (and reasonable protection) for the input (on v3.x D14 5V1 zener IIRC)
External wizardry to cut this down to a 5V squarewave is NOT needed: Should we use an MS-esque opto-coupler externally? Perhaps like this:
Given that the ECU hall input has a 5V pullup already, I guess the pullup and Vcc be removed too. That would be a very simple solution, but... will it work? |
