Originally the trigger WAS 12+1 with two hall sensors. (primary trigger + sectrig)
* it was modified (as recent config suggests) to 12-1 (missing tooth !) trigger - this way sectrig is not necessary, actually running without secondarytrigger ** note that this modification is NOT necessary. The factory 12+1 (c012) trigger is also supported, including trailing spark ignition. * before applying trailing spark, (but after the conversion to 12-1 primary trigger) the engine was running with leading-sparkplug only with wasted spark, first with 1.1.27 firmware ** http://www.vems.hu/files/MembersPage/poweredracing/megasquirt200811161625%20jó.msq ** than using 2 ign transformers (leading spark only) and ign-dualout mode (1.1.81 firmware) |

Finally (2010-09-21) using 4 ign transformers, 2 leading and 2 trailing spark (1.1.81 firmware). |
This car consumes a lot. Almost 20 liter / 100 km ! With trailing spark it runs smoother, with better throttle-response, and consumes somewhat less (nowhere near MembersPage/ShellEcoMarathonHungary :-). |
The +12V power supply of the trailing spark ignition transformers can be switched with a relay, using misc output1. Mostly just to try the difference: a way to quickly disable trailing without opening the hood. |
