Preparations before install
---- * Make sure you have a working TPS (resistive type, not microswitch) * If you have a trigger wheel on your engine from factory, describe it and see if it's usable, otherwise, make a simple wheel on the front pulley and use a Honeywell GT1 sensor * Make a good ground point close to where your VEMS unit will sit * Check over mechanics once again, Oil, water, fuel system ---- While doing the install ---- ---- * Wire up temp sensors, check that readings are ok * Check that TPS is ok and calibrate, must react as soon as you start pressing the pedal * Wire up trigger, crank the engine and see that you have RPM signal * Wire up fuel pump, make sure it works properly * Wire up ignition coils, use a strobe light to check that tdc_delay is correct while cranking * Wire up injectors, start the car, and once again, use strobelight to see that advance is correct throughout the whole rpm range * C |
