Visit Preferences to set your user name Summary of change: Audi A4 1.8TQ My plan is to uppgrade with bigger turbo, new engine management system a bigger IC. MembersPage/SteinOvePrestmo has intentions to install Genboard on the same engine, an Audi AEB (1.8T 20V). How to contact him? prestms (at) hotmail dot com ---- Great overview of available information here: GenBoard/Manual What sensors to use * CLT - Coolant Temperature ** Stock is usually of compatible type (Bosch NTC profile), about 2.5KOhm at 20C. * MAT/IAT - GenBoard/Manual/IntakeAirTemperature ** Same NTC profile as coolant temperature sensor. You could build your own with the NTC resistor found in the webshop (really cheap, but works great) or use one from another vehicle (verify the resistance curve). 1.8t motors have an IAT sensor bolted into the manifold, usually near the throttle body. I am using one from a 1.8t on my Golf, probably the same curve. * MAP - Manifold Air pressure (onboard the Genboard) ** Just a pressure line from the intake past the throttle butterfly, that connects to the MAP sensor on the Genboard. * TPS - Throttle Position Sensor ** Find out the type of TPS that you have currently, is it a potentiometer (varies with position) or an on/off (digital) type? You want the potentiometer type. All 1.8t throttle bodies have a potentiometer type tps, but on some it is built into the drive-by-wire. Genboard has the capability, but not the code (currently), to control drive-by-wire tb's. You will find the cable type much nicer anyway. Drive-by-wire tb's are slow and sloppy. Then there is the ignition and InputTrigger for this engine. I'll leave that to AEB experts to answer as I don't know anything about the stock system on these engines. All 1.8t's have coil-over-plug coils. I think the toothed trigger wheel is attached to the crank inside the block, with a sensor bolted to the back of the block, protruding inside. I think its the same as the ABA trigger wheel; 60-2. There is a hall type (I'm pretty sure its a hall type), one-window cam position sensor on the intake cam on the front side (timing belt side) of the motor. You will need this to use the coil-over-plug coils. Q: Do I have to make changes to my engine internally? A: No. Optional: Add document to category: Wiki formatting: * is Bullet list ** Bullet list subentry ...
