Ignition output firing order has to be moved down by 1 in order to even attempt to catch. But the issue is mainly that it seems that the ECU will not wait for the proper sync/cycle... it will try to trigger at any time it wants cause to backfire in intake or sometimes exahaust or anywhere in between. Sometimes it catches properly and engine rungs great. How is this even possible? Link to CFG: http://vems.hu/vemstune/sharingcenter/reports.php?cmd=view&key=1sFpOh * You can't sync this way. You have to use 0 20 40 0 20 40 because further 60 80 100 does not exist without camsync. And you have to use dual output mode for coils [means wasted spark] + it will require some rewiring because not possible to pair any two outputs. Or alternatively - do camsync - this is best solution. GintsK ** Thank you good to know... FWIW, both Trigger ref reacted the same. I was going to connect camsync later but figured I would try with just crank to simply things, seems like it made things more complicated :P In any case, the current motor is bad (blow-by and HG issue so owner might be swapping to 2.8L at which time I will do a new harness again using full cam sync, etc. In the mean time I will re-pin the coils to match the dual-out option! Cheers, Sascha. * So I'm still having the same problem even when I changed to dual output... I still have to offset the ign order down by one in order to even get the car to start. And it still wants to start sometimes on the exhaust stroke. I really don't get how this is all possible. ** can you post triggerlog with just spark plug #1 mounted? *** So it seems the issues were happening because the cam sensor was connected but not enabled. After unpinning the cam sensor (which was powered w/ 12V instead of 5V from the ECU) the issue has stopped. **** Correction, issue did not stop. Believe issues is FW related when running COP w/o cam-sync. Optional: Add document to category: Wiki formatting: * is Bullet list ** Bullet list subentry ...
