Looks like I'm going to make up an RS-232 connector and communicate with the 'lil board that way. With any luck, I'll have RS-232 and keyboard working tonight. ---- August 5, 2004, 12:25am PST: Wired up what might just be the world's ugliest RS-232 cable. Pics to follow. ---- August 22, 2004, 11:30am PST: Acquired my 20x4 Backlit LCD display. It's HD44780 compatible, and has a greenish backlight. Nice and cheap too! This is the ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26206&item=3835083710&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW And this is the spec sheet: http://www.phanderson.com/ebay/truly_lcd.pdf Total cost was $17usd shipped to my door. Not bad! ---- June 6, 2005, 12:56pm PST: After a year's hiatus, I finally have time to work on the GenBoardV3.1, along with a car to put it in. My poor Escort GT's engine died and it took me a long time to get a new one fitted with a limited budget and no garage to work in (but I got it done) Now just working on fitting the necessary components to the GenBoardV3.1 in order to get it running / working for my application. Solder * RN1 and RN2 (10k 5-pin resistor networks) on bottom, since that way it does not conflict with MPX4250AP MAP sensor that better goes on top * R154=10k if you have the FETdrivers (I'm sure you have at least 2 FETdrivers for 4 channels) This makes sure that FETdriver input is pulled to 5V so the outputs are low: there is no unwanted primepulse when the AVR boots, before the outputs are initialized Optional: Add document to category: Wiki formatting: * is Bullet list ** Bullet list subentry ...
