Relevant config: primary_trigger=01 secondary_trigger=02 tooth_wheel=3A trigger_tooth=02 another_trigger_tooth=1E * BAD: crank_minper=EA (might get you unintentianal revlimit) ** crank_minper=00 will do fine * BAD: tooth_wheel_twidth1=02 ** tooth_wheel_twidth1=18 (decimal 24, that is 6 degrees) * BAD: tooth_wheel_twidth2=06 ** tooth_wheel_twidth2=48 (decimal 72, that is 18 degrees) *** '''this is only from firmware 1.1.0 onwards (right?)''' * BAD: ign_tdcdelay=D8 ** use 55 .. 65 degrees, and adjust trigger_tooth accordingly ign_crank_advance=12 ign_out=70 * ignchmax=01 ** prefer ignchmax=03 h[0]=0F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 h[2]=00 10 00 10 00 10 00 10 The '''first (zeroth if you like) tooth after the''' missing tooth occurs (at the sensor) 120 degrees (???) that is 20 teeth BTDC. Verify this! It's not the middle of the missing tooth that counts. * BAD: trigger_tooth=02 and ign_tdcdelay 0xD8 (216 * 0.5 = 108 degrees). The sum would be good: 12 + 108 = 120 degrees but timing from a tooth too early is not good (especially during cranking) ** good: trigger_tooth=0A and ign_tdcdelay=0x78 (10*6 + 120*0.5 = 120 degrees) Now the engine won't start and will kick back during cranking. For some reason I tried ign_tdcdelay = 0x5A (90 * 0.5 = 45 degrees). Together with trigger_tooth this makes 12 + 45 = +- 60 degrees) which happens to be half the real value of 120 degrees. The engine is running sweet then, especially at increased engine revs. \\ '''The changes from above didn't have an effect. I also updated the firmware to 1.1.12 without any effect.''' Q. Although the engine is running I would like to know what mistake I made. Did I use the wrong factor (2 instead of 0.5) or something else is wrong. * can you strobe the engine ? ** '''sadly I do not have a strobe gun by hand''' * maybe the angle is not 120 degrees ? ** '''I checked it once more and I measured an angle of +- 120 degrees.''' * do you count from the proper point ? ** '''The followed procedure: I aligned the zeroth tooth with the VR sensor, then turned the engine clockwise (verified by moving the car in 5th gear) until cylinder 1 is at TDC. I counted the number of teeth passing the sensor. I measured 20 teeth, which was verified by looking at the angular movement of the cam wheel of 60 degrees.'''
