The Audi 3B has three trigger sensors: G40 Hall sensor? On the 3B engine, the hall effect sensor (G40) is located in the distributor. The signal provided by G40 is used by the ECU to : Determine the ignition firing point for cylinder #1 when the engine is first cranked Determine fuel injection timing and sequencing Create a reference point for signals from knock sensors G61 & G66 G4 Reference sensor: The crankshaft reference sensor (G4) is used by the ECU to determine a specific position in the rotational position of the crankshaft. A steel pin is pressed into the flywheel at 62 degrees BTDC for cylinder #1. G28 Engine speed sensor: The crankshaft reference sensor (G28) is used by the ECU to determine the engine speed. It does this by generating a saw-tooth waveform as teeth on the flywheel induce a voltage across the tip of the sensor. The ECU counts the number of these pulses over time and calculates the instantaneous engine speed. Can someone tell which too sensors there is the best choice fore my setup Regards peter '''You will use all 3 triggers, 2 x VR and flywheel and 1 x Hall in dizzy. This is called auditrigger (see in wiki) and V3.3 can use it as it is.
