The ECU also know if ignition is on/off by grounding one of the analog inputs. This makes it possible to get power supply to vems even when ignition is off, and then shut down itself a while after.. this makes it possible to improve: *Coldstarts. if the engine stalls a short while after a coldstart, it doesnt need full coldstart enrichment because the combustion camber is hot. when restarting the engine it often results in flooded engine because of the large crank-enrichment, and the engine goes too rich a while after.. even the iac-valve-opening need to be different in these situations. * it makes it possible to burn down adaption-values into flash. *When the cooling-fan is connected to VEMS, it makes it possible to run it after the ignition is turned off. * turbotimer - the engine stays on a while after turning ignition off. Schematics: coming soon.. ----- '''Saab DI-Ignition''' I did some changes in the old open-source code(r027) to drive a saab with DI-ignition system, and it worked good! The changes and problem I solved was following (summary): * The DI-casette fires the spark on the rising edge of the dwell, instead of falling edge like usual ignition-coils does. * The sync signal which uses the ion-current from the sparkplug to sync, is quite noisy and needed some filtering(software). A reliable signal is more than 1,9 to 2,3millioseconds long. * When no combustion occurs during start, engin braking (or just a noisy signal in low loads) no sync-signal is detected. Then it runs waste-fire. As soon as it detects a good sync-signal it goes to sequential again! - Is there something that sounds intersting to include in the public firmwares?
