Visit Preferences to set your user name Summary of change: part of MembersPage/DTechnologies/Hayabusa project '''Idle Control''' As I start building my config file I've realized that I don't have a good plan in place for '''automatic idle control'''. From the factory, the Hayabusa comes with a manual fast idle lever which operates a mechanism on the throttle bodies which opens the throttle plates enough to bring the idle up to '''3250rpm'''. This is adjusted with a set screw next to the idle adjust set screw. My original plan was to install a simple solenoid to activate this mechanism, controlled by the VEMS. What I'd like to do (and let me know if it can be done). Is use the manual idle and fast-idle adjusters as a course adjustment. Then have a solenoid pull the fast idle mechanism controlled by the IAC function of the VEMs. Then have the ignition based idle adjust functionality fine tune the settings to get more exact idle speeds. ---- So I've asked myself many questions today but there's a few I don't have answers for. *Q: Should I be using ignition based idle control at all? *Q: Can the IAC configuration be set up to control an on/off solenoid instead of a stepper? *Q: Can I modify my hardware to use a stepper and get more finite idle control?
