Visit Preferences to set your user name Summary of change: part of MembersPage/DTechnologies/Hayabusa project '''Boost Control''' * I've been eager to start putting the hardware for this together as the idea of changing boost withing nothing more than a quick software tweak has got me really excited to implement this. * I have an issue right now however. I need an external wastegate and I don't have one...or much money. ** I've got a lead on a wastegate from an '''Audi 5000'''. It's been rebuilt with a new diaphram and has a 10lb. spring (which should be good because I'll need aprox 12lbs to reach my goal of 300HP). The price is right but I don't know much about these units...if they're any good or not. ** I've learned that this wastegate is the same style as could be found on a 1985 Quattro 5 cylinder turbo engine. I don't believe this gate is that old however. That is one of the best wastegates ever built, even on cars with 350000km on them they are usually in perfect condition. The only thing that can break on them is the diaphram and that is very uncommon. With your new membrane it will probably offer 15-20 more years of trouble free operation. The wastegate could have better flow but has been used successfully to over 700HP in some applications. It is also a bit heavy and a bit large compared to some aftermarket wastegates.
